Deanna studied Journalism at Carleton University with a focus on economic reporting and a minor in Canadian Studies. She entered government as a student at Statistics Canada and went on to work for a number of departments, the most recent being Employment and Social Development Canada. Throughout her career, she has particularly enjoyed working on collaborative projects involving strategic policy, new technologies and approaches. Deanna was born in B.C. but spent most of her childhood living in other countries. She tells her children that visiting other countries is great but Canada “rocks” and is still the best place to live!
